The Rules of Fantasy Football

I'm sure you are all fully aware of what Fantasy Football is however please read below for the rules of this competition.

This competition will follow the format of the hugely popular Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football competition.

GENERAL RULES

You may pick 11 players from any Premiership club, ensuring that you stick to a budget of £50m. You can pick from either a 4-4-2 formation (1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 strikers) or a 4-3-3 formation (1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 strikers). There is no limit to the number of players you can have from one Premiership club.

Each team you submit will cost £10.00. You may submit as many teams as you like.

POINT SCORING

All Players
+2 pts for appearing in the starting XI
+1 pt for appearing as a substitute

+3 pts for an assist (playing a significant part in setting up a goal)
+5 pts for scoring a goal (including FA Cup penalty shoot-outs)
+3 pts for being named as the Opta Sportdata Man-of-the-Match

-5 pts for missing a penalty (including shoot-outs)
-3 pts for an own goal

-5 pts for being sent off
-2 pts for a booking

Goalkeepers and defenders only
+4 pts for a full match clean sheet
+2 pts for not conceding a goal during a part-appearance
+5 pts for a penalty save (goalkeepers only, including FA Cup penalty shoot-outs)
-1 pt for each goal conceded (not including shoot-outs)

Scores will be updated on a weekly basis and the site will normally be updated on a Wednesday with the new scores and league tables. However you can check your players points on the Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football site which is updated daily. These results are also released in Wednesdays copy of the Daily Telegraph.

TRANSFERS

You may make any number of transfers prior to the season starting. These will not count against your total transfer limit. Once the season has started you may make up to 6 transfers. There is NO transfer window. You may make your transfers at any point during the course of the season. At no point should your team total exceed £50m (transfers will try and be validated when received, however if any teams value exceeds £50m then they will receive no points until the error is corrected).

Important
Transfers will be actioned immediately however you will not eligible to receive any points won by the incoming player that day. For example if you want to transfer a player in for Saturday you must action your transfer by Friday to be eligible for Saturdays points. Details of transfers are received immediately however if you are actioning a transfer outside of office hours it is worthwhile noting the amount of points you should receive in case of any errors.

Player Lists can be found on this site by visiting the Player Lists page and downloading the PDF documents. These lists will be updated as and when new players are added to them. You can check to see how new/old the lists are by checking the dates on them.
